Svaberg IPA Recipe (20 L)
Svaberg IPA is a beer I knew well from the Fresh Wort Kit, making the all-grain recipe a natural next step.
This Svaberg IPA recipe is a 20 L all-grain American IPA built around Citra and Mosaic hops, with a light malt base and a bright, citrus-forward hop character.

About This Recipe
Svaberg IPA is one of my favourite IPAs, with Citra and Mosaic giving it a bright, citrus-forward hop character over a light malt base.
I first got to know this beer through the Fresh Wort Kit version before moving on to the all-grain recipe. That makes this a recipe I already knew I liked before brewing it from scratch myself.
If that distinction is new to you, my guide to brewing beer at home explains where Fresh Wort Kits and all-grain brewing fit into the overall process.
If you’re wondering why this recipe uses a five-day dry hop, my dry hopping guide goes through timing, contact time, oxygen and hop creep in more detail.
Brewing Notes
I first brewed this all-grain version as batch #32, alongside a Fresh Wort Kit version of the same beer for a direct comparison.
That brew started at 1.064 and finished at 1.010, slightly lower than the recipe’s target FG. The all-grain version came out fuller and more complex than the FWK version in the finished comparison.
